Tiffany Haddish’s latest activities are no laughing matter, as the comic was reportedly arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence in Georgia on Friday, January 14.

According to reports, the 42-year-old comedian and actress was detained in Peachtree City, Georgia in the early hours of Friday morning after local police were informed about a driver who fell asleep at the wheel.

It’s being alleged that Tiffany was under the influence of marijuana, although no official statements from her people have been released yet.

“At approximately 2:30 AM on January 14, 2022, Peachtree City Police Officers responded to a 911 call regarding a driver asleep at the wheel on Hwy 74,” read a police statement, according to The Metro.

“While en route, an officer observed a vehicle matching the description and ultimately conducted a traffic stop as the vehicle pulled into the yard of a residence. and made contact with the driver.

“Subsequent investigation led to Ms. Tiffany Haddish being arrested for Driving Under the Influence. She was transported to the Fayette County Jail without incident.”

According to records obtained by TMZ, Tiffany was in police custody for a few hours, before being released from Fayette County Jail at around 6:30 am after posting $1,666 to bond out of jail.

Tiffany is currently going through a lot in her personal life right now, and just one day before her arrest opened up to Entertainment Tonight‘s Nischelle Turner in a very candid interview via Zoom.

“I’m going through some things over here,” Tiffany said in the interview, which was in part to promote her new Apple TV+ series, The Afterparty.

“My personal life is in shambles. This year people are like ‘Happy New Year!’ I’m like, no, neutral New Year. I’m gonna be neutral in the year,” she continued, we assume in reference to the recent death of her grandmother, who raised her, and the death of her dog.

Tiffany then went on to reference beloved late actor and comedian Bob Saget, who tragically and unexpectedly passed away on January 9 at the age of 65…

“That man– he taught me so much,” Tiffany said.

“I met him when I was 16 at the Laugh Factory Comedy Camp. He was always encouraging and kind.

“You know when you watch TV shows and you’re like, ‘I wish I had a dad like that?’ He became like this — he was instantly like a father figure to me. Around the time I turned to like 21 he shifted from a father figure type to like a big brother. He’d be like, ‘Alright, let’s go out.’ He would send me messages and tell me he was proud of me.”

She then went on to say that Bob Saget supported her in every aspect of her life, and always encouraged her to be her true authentic self…

“He would be like, ‘Tiffany forget all that. You got to be you, got to do what’s right for you.’ He was one of those few people who always encouraged me to be myself,” she continued.

“You know, in Hollywood people are always trying to encourage you to be something you’re not, like, ‘Oh you need to look this way. You shouldn’t use this word. You’ve got too much of a country twang. You sound too ghetto.’

“He was one of the few people, this white man, like, ‘Be your best self. You’re a strong Black woman, be that!'”

The Afterparty – which is described as a retelling of the same night told through a different character’s perspective and in a unique format to match each storyteller – premieres on January 28 on Apple TV+.
