Put your hands together for the Artist of the Decade… aka Miss Taylor Swift!
Yes, Taylor Swift will receive the prestigious ‘Artist of the Decade’ award at next month’s American Music Awards. And boy, does she deserve it!
The singer has won more American Music Awards than any other female artist – even surpassing Whitney Houston – so the honor couldn’t have gone to a more deserving recipient!
“Taylor’s impact on music this decade is undeniable and her performances on the American Music Awards have been truly spectacular,” Mark Bracco, a spokesperson for Dick Clark Productions, the producer of the awards, said in a statement.
“We’re thrilled to honor her as our Artist of the Decade and can’t wait for her to blow everyone away with an epic, career-spanning performance unlike any other!”
Taylor Swift will perform a medley of some of her most iconic songs at the awards, so it’s going to be an unmissable show!
The 29-year-old singer already has 23 AMAs under her belt, and more accolades could very well be on the way as she is nominated in five more categories this year.
This year, Taylor is up for ‘Artist of the Year’, ‘Favorite Music Video’, ‘Favorite Female Artist – Pop/Rock’, ‘Favorite Album – Pop/Rock’, and ‘Favorite Artist – adult contemporary’.
If she wins just two awards, she will officially hold the record for most AMAs in history, knocking the late Michael Jackson off the top spot.
Do you think she can do it?
