Ouch – Cazzie David has made some pretty big revelations about her ex-boyfriend, Pete Davidson…
In a series of essays entitled No One Asked For This, Cazzie David – who is the daughter of Curb Your Enthusiasm star and creator, Larry David – opened up about a number of things, including her struggles with mental health and her very complicated relationship with Pete Davidson.
In the essays, the 26-year-old said that she was infatuated with the 26-year-old comedian, but he dumped her by text message the night before starting his very public whirlwind romance with Ariana Grande.
The pair were reportedly dating for two and a half years, before Cazzie initiated a temporary “break” in their relationship. When she quickly realized she had made a mistake (this is all very Ross and Rachel, isn’t it?) Pete allegedly said he was done with the relationship and didn’t love her anymore, saying he was the “happiest he had ever been” without her. He then dumped her by text message and moved on very quickly with Ariana Grande.
Cazzie recalled the moment she found out about her ex’s high profile romance with the 27-year-old Positions singer, which was while she travelling to her sister’s graduation with her father. She said that she “shook uncontrollably in his arms for the entire flight”, and then described curling up on the bathroom floor, and woke up “screaming in agony”.
Even though remembering some of her darkest moments wasn’t easy, Cazzie said that she’s glad she covered everything in the series of essays – especially because writing about them wasn’t going to be any harder than actually experiencing them…
“It was a really pivotal moment in my life,” she told The Los Angeles Times in an interview about her collection of essays.
“And writing about it has caused me a ton of anxiety, especially because I talk so much about hating the attention it brought me.
“Why would I bring more attention to myself by writing about it? But there’s nothing that’s gonna be worse than what I already experienced with that.”
And despite everything, we’re surprised to learn that she and Pete Davidson are actually friends now. She even mentioned him in the acknowledgments section of her book…
“Pete. I love you … Your bravery inspires me and your friendship means the world to me,” she wrote.
Cazzie David’s collection of essays, entitled No One Asked For This, will hit shelves on November 17th. We can’t wait!
