Meghan Markle knew that all eyes would be on her at the Royal Wedding on Saturday, which is why she enlisted the help of celebrity hair maestro Serge Normant to style her hair on the big day.

The new Duchess of Sussex’s locks were styled in a messy yet controlled low bun to complement her stunning Givenchy wedding dress – and we have the exact details of how that effortlessly flawless style was achieved…

“We had to blow dry her hair from wet, I would say 45 minutes to an hour,” Serge Normant explained.

“It’s a messy bun, we call it. Messy in a controlled way. I don’t overload the hair with products in general and certainly not on this day.”

He then went on to explain where he drew his inspiration from, and we weren’t in the least bit surprised to discover he was channeling a little bit of Audrey Hepburn….

“For me, I always think of icons I love, like Audrey Hepburn, all those styles that I still look at a picture of today and still love. I always have little ’60s inspirations in my head but I didn’t want to do anything set in a time frame.

“I didn’t want too much volume. I wanted something very loose and easy which is why we chose a very loose bun…It wasn’t about reinvention.

“The thing is working with Meghan, she makes everything so light and easy that you don’t think about these things in that dramatic way.

“It was an amazing day, something that will last a lifetime.”

We couldn’t agree more. Now please excuse us while we re-watch the Royal Wedding and cry over just how perfect Meghan looked…
