Liam Payne and his baby mama Cheryl Cole/Tweedy/however she identifies these days have been plagued with break-up rumors for quite a while now.

But now the former One Direction heartthrob has finally cleared things up once and for all – and it’s bad news for all the single ladies hoping to offer Liam Payne a shoulder to cry on as he pretty much confirmed that his relationship is as normal as relationships can be. Take from that what you will…

“The funniest thing was a week before we were getting married. The next week we’re splitting up. And the thing for me is, I just like to think we’re somewhere in the middle,” he told ES Magazine.

“You know, we have our struggles. Like, of course, I’m not gonna sit here and say that everything’s absolutely fine and dandy, because of course you go through different things, and that’s what a relationship is.”

He’s not wrong there.

“This part of our relationship was never not going to happen; there was always going to be a little bit of tenseness in the way we sort ourselves out,” he added.

“But tell me a relationship in the world that doesn’t go through a spot like that? It’s about whether you make it through or not, together, is the main point there, I guess.”

So from what we have gathered, we think he’s suggesting that they are “making it through”.

We’ll have to wait and see what happens in the next few months, but we hope these two can make it work for the sake of their one-year-old baby Bear. Watch this space!
