Less than a week after her closest friends and co-stars came to her defense in a sensational magazine interview, Meghan Markle has received yet another high profile supporter.

Meghan Markle’s newest supporter is none other than Mr. George Clooney, who made his feelings about her media mistreatment clear at a recent press conference.

The 57-year-old actor slammed paparazzi for constantly chasing the mother-to-be, and even compared her treatment to that of the late Princess Diana…

“They’re just chasing Meghan Markle everywhere, she’s been pursued and vilified,” George Clooney reportedly said at a recent press panel.

“She’s a woman who is seven months pregnant and she has been pursued and vilified and chased in the same way that Diana was, and it’s history repeating itself.”

“We’ve seen how that ends,” he concluded, referencing Princess Diana’s fatal car crash in 1997, which happened as she was trying to escape paparazzi.

And George Clooney didn’t end things there.

He also referenced the negative tabloid attention she has been getting, as well as the lack of privacy, since the personal letter she wrote her father, Thomas Markle, was leaked by The Daily Mail…

“I can’t tell you how frustrating that is, just seeing them broadcast a letter from a daughter to a father,” he added.

“She’s getting a raw deal there and I think it’s irresponsible and I’m surprised by that.”

We applaud George Clooney for defending his friend and hope that more of Meghan Markle’s close friends will do the same.
